AEP & APA HOLIDAY EVENT!!
ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE & WALK down Christmas Tree lane
The Central Chapter of the Association of Environmental Professionals will be joining the Central Section of the American Planning Association for a Holiday Event at Barbara and Lou Steck’s home in Fresno (just off Christmas Tree lane) on Friday, December 3rd, 2010.
WHAT’S THE PLAN
This is one of two nights when the Fig Garden Homeowner’s Association closes Van Ness Boulevard to through traffic and sponsors a Walk down the Lane. Link: http://www.oldfig.org/about/christmastreelane.html.
On the opening night of Christmas Tree Lane, millions of lights are turned on at 6:00 p.m. and remain lit until 11:00 p.m. Some 140 homes and 300 trees are decorated and the display spans nearly two miles.
The Steck’s home will be open on December 3rd between 6:00 and 10:00 pm. This is a family-friendly event where you, your family, and friends are welcome to meet, walk, and warm-up. The walk is for pedestrians only and you should bring warm clothes, walking shoes, and a flashlight. If you don’t feel like walking, just kick back, relax, and enjoy the hospitality.
AEP & APA will provide warm drinks and snacks. If you have a specific dish or activity that you would like to include, please let us know.
GETTING THERE
Barb and Lou’s address is 559 N. Circle Drive (just west of Van Ness and south of the Herndon Canal) and the phone number is 559-222-1954. Parking on Circle Drive is fairly limited and we suggest that you park on one of the side streets on the east side of Van Ness. As Van Ness will be closed to auto traffic after 6:00 pm on December 3rd, it is best to use Wishon Avenue east of Van Ness and generally ensure that you are south of Ashlan or north of Shields. Wishon intersects both E. Ramona and E. Beverly south of the canal and street parking will be available. From either street, it is a short walk west across Van Ness to Circle Drive and Barb and Lou’s home.
RSVP: Register online at www.aepcentral.net if you plan to attend so that we have enough goodies and hot drinks!
