The Association of Environmental Professionals proudly announces its 2010 Fall Workshop at ten locations throughout the state.  This full-day workshop will provide a basic understanding of the fundamentals of the California Environmental Quality Act and the State Guidelines.  The program features a curriculum developed specifically for people involved in the environmental review process, including consultants, regulators, applicants, or industry professionals, and will benefit those new to the field as well as practicing professionals.

Topics will include:

  • Understanding the rules - the Statute and Guidelines (including a discussion of the 2010 revisions to the Appendix G Thresholds of Significance).
  • Determining the appropriate document - Exemptions, Negative Declarations, EIRs.
  • Responsibilities - Lead, Responsible, Trustee agencies and the role of the Consultant.
  • Adequacy of analysis and mitigation.
  • Findings.
  • Notices.
  • Legal challenges and defensibility.
  • Projects also subject to NEPA.
