Tour Fine Gold Creek near Millerton Lake
The hike will be led by Wendy Fisher, a plant/wetland ecologist and
certified arborist with Live Oak Associates, and wildlife biologist Rebekah Jensen at the Sierra Foothill Conservancy's Fine Gold Creek Preserve. This is a moderate hike that follows a newly cut trail which meanders along the slopes of the preserve and offers scenic views of Fine Gold Creek. Part of the trail takes you along the creek to explore the streamside habitat; other parts of the trail are mixed with gradual slopes, steeper inclines, and some rocky areas. It's a wonderful trail that will allow you to experience a greater area of the preserve!
It will t
ake approximately 3 - 4 hours to traverse the trail, stop for a bite to eat, and return to the parking area. Make sure to bring water and snacks or a lunch.
Families are welcome to this event, but the intensity of the hike is not suitable for small children. It will be 2 to 3 hours of walking on rolling terrain. Keep the difficulty of the hike in mind. A lunch break will be included. Bring plenty of water and a sack lunch. Suggested gear is hiking boots, sunscreen and a hat.
Special Note: Please be aware that this is a guided hike and participants will not have the ability to enter and exit the property at their leisure.
Cost: Free
